Advocacy

Representing Business

The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce advocates for policies and initiatives that support a strong, vibrant local economy. We serve as the voice of business at the city, county, state, and federal levels—working to ensure legislation and decisions are business-friendly and reflective of our community’s needs.

One of the most valuable benefits of Chamber membership is knowing you have a dedicated organization advocating on behalf of your business at the local, state, and federal levels. While much of our advocacy work happens behind the scenes, it plays a critical role in protecting and promoting Dana Point’s business community.

The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce actively engages with elected officials, partners with regional chambers and organizations, and works to ensure the voice of local business is heard. Our advocacy efforts include:

  • Attending City Council and regional planning meetings
  • The Chamber partners with the Dana Point Civic Association to host monthly Local & Legislative Coffee Chats. These informal gatherings feature local elected officials and guest speakers who discuss key issues, upcoming legislation, and community priorities impacting Dana Point.
  • Meeting regularly with our local, state, and federal representatives
  • Participating in annual advocacy trips to Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
  • Monitoring legislation and submitting letters of support or opposition on behalf of our members
  • Supporting pro-business initiatives and championing economic development
  • Maintaining membership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and CalChamber to stay informed on broader policy impacts

Whether it's crafting policy recommendations or addressing urgent member concerns, the Chamber is your voice in the room where decisions are made.

Dana Point City Council
